We booked a cruise on 29th September 2023 for 14.00, that was the only time the trip was in operation. We arrived at the said meeting point at 13.45, at... read more 14.05 nobody had arrived and we were the only 2 people waiting for the trip. I rang the contact number, only to be told the trip had been cancelled due to windy weather. I found this unbelievable as there was very little wind and the sea was calm, with other boats sailing. I was appalled that nobody had the courtesy to contact us about the cancellation, especially as we had programmed the rest of our day around this trip. We were given no apology and I personally felt that the trip had been cancelled as we were the only 2 passengers. If we ever return to Northumberland I would not use this company to do a puffin and seal trip, I would take the boat from Seahouses.
MEMORABLE TRIP - A memorable trip around Coquet Island
Plenty of seals
Sad to witness the devastation caused by Avian flu
The crew were excellent
Booking is essential
Great fun, with adorable seals 🦭. - Loved this experience. Great fun for the family. The boats weren't over crowded or packed full to the brim with people which meant we wad a pleasant and relaxing journey... read more without being squashed for space. We went at a time when the puffins had left so obviously we didn't see any, but we did spot and get some great photos of seals( which were adorable 😍), razorbills, an oystercatcher, artic and sandwich turns, idas and ,of course, lots and lots of gulls.we went on quite a clear day so could see all around and far into the distance. It was a great and memorable experience, we recommend and would go again. I strongly recommend bringing a camera (with a good magnifying 🔍 capability) or some sort of decent picture taking implement. Easy to book and enjoyed greatly though unfortunately didn't see any dolphins 🐬, but still incredible. Also recommend doing the sculpture walk/trail before or after as they are really cool as well as visiting the local shops and other places.
Well worth waiting for - A highlight in a week of unpredictable weather was finally achieved when we got out on the cruise. It felt a very tiny boat on a large sea, rocking... read more even in what looked like calm conditions, but we got so close to seals in the water that it was worth it! The puffins flew overhead close enough to see their beautiful colours and we enjoyed looking across to Coquet Island birds, which of course you can't visit in person. The commentary was informative and interesting.
If you do anything in Amble, do this! - What an experience! We absolutely loved out puffin cruise and we will be back next year.... earlier!
We saw a few puffins but the low number was due... read more to the lateness in the year so all good. Saw LOADS of seals and lots of other seabirds to tick off our list. Young seals coming right over to the boat to explore to the delight of us passengers!
The captain was knowledgeable and friendly, happy to answer questions and chatty before we left the harbour making sure everyone was happy.
The only thing that could have been better was the volume of the PA system as it was very difficult to hear over the engine of the boat.
Brilliant trip, thank you - we loved it
Puffins, Seals and Turns - If you like puffins and seals then this is the trip for you. After a short sail out to the island there was plenty of time to watch the hundreds... read more of puffins come and go, just check that the puffins are there before you book as they only arrive to breed.

Great trip - A fantastic boat trip around Coquet Island a week ago. A small boat so not too crowded with a good commentary. Four Terns were seen including the rare Roseates plus... read more the Puffins, Kittiwakes and Seals. Just an hour but with fairly calm seas it was a memorable tour. Sadly no Dolphins for us but you can't have everything.
Puffins and terns up close. - A fairly short boat trip to Coquet island from Amble harbour. No shortage of puffins and four types of tern, including the rare roseate tern. Advance booking generally recommended but... read more I turned up on the day and still got a place. The skipper was friendly and knowledgeable about the wildlife. A bit pricier than the Farne Island boat trips from Seahouses but still very much worth doing. Enjoyment dependent on the wind and sea conditions! Take a cag and an extra layer.
Fantastic!!!! - This is a fantastic experience. The crew are very friendly and have a great wealth of information to share!!!!!
Lovely experience - Lovely 1 hour trip around Coquet Island with Steve with the added bonus of dolphins which swam alongside us for a good few minutes. Well worth the £20 per adult.... read more Preferred this to the trip out to the Faroes.
Lovely boat trip accompanied by puffins and seals! - What a lovely and relaxing boat trip to Coquet island from Amble harbour. We managed to book for a 12 o'clock trip on a Sunday and they must have put... read more on another boat specially for that time as there were only 7 of us on that one! The one going just before us was almost full! Our captain was friendly and knowledgeable and he pointed out, and told us all about, the wildlife, as we left the harbour and cruised across to the island. It was amazing to see the puffins flying over us, and others swimming near the boat. Because of bird flu we weren't allowed on the island, but this was so much better, as we just drifted next to the island's shoreline, and the seals swam out to have a nose at us! We saw more basking on the island. There were also terns flying around amongst the puffins. It was so peaceful, and a privilege to be there. We headed back to the harbour, very relaxed and content, having enjoyed a lovely, well spent hour on the boat.
