Q: Can we bring our dog on board?
A: Yes of course you can as long as your dog is well behaved and is sat and on a lead.
Q: What birds do you normally see with Puffin Cruises?
A: Puffins, rare Roseate Terns, Sandwich Tern, Common Tern, Artic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider ducks which all nest here in the summer months. Also a Grey Seal colony which stays at the island all year round is seen on the east side of the island.
Q: How long does a trip normally last?
A: We operate on an hour trip window, so we leave then head out to open waters near the island then return back in approximatly 1 hours time.
Q: How many trips do you do in a day?
A: We are tide dependant due to the River Coquet tides. We usually run at least 3 times a day, sometimes even in the evening so not only will you see the Puffins, Sea Lions, and not forgetting the amazing sun set over the Amble.
Q: Whats your prices for trip aboad?
A: Adults are £20, Children over 3 are £15 and little ones under 3 are of course FREE.
Q: Can we go on the Island?
A: Birds are everywhere on Coquet Island and the walls and gardens are home to several hundred nesting Eider Ducks. For this reason, the island is designated as a sanctuary and the public are not allowed to land on it.
Q: Who owns the island?
A: Coquet Island is owned by the Duke of Northumberland and was bought by his family in 1753.
Q: Is there someone on the island 24 hours a day?
A: The island is uninhabited in winter, but seasonal wardens are present throughout the summer to protect the nesting birds.
Q: Where is your Pod located and what do you sell?
A: We are located in the Amble Harbour Village. Inside our Pod you will find a vast variety of Puffin Gifts, from Mugs, to Plates, Hats to Hoodies, We are sure you will find something to remember your trip with us.
Q: How many boats do you run?
A: We run 2 boats, 1 is called G Fisher III and the second one is called Rachel K. Our skippers for these boats are David Gray and Steven Banks.
